Miranda spent 18 years in one home, and he struggled enormously with the change when surrendered to MAARS. His unpredictability and self-stimulatory behaviors isolated him from the flock, but he has been able to form healthy bonds with many more volunteers. To the delight of all, he has recently shown some true cockatoo behaviors. He can be seen running through the halls, playing on play stands, and interacting with volunteers.
Miranda is a Moluccan Cockatoo; a large parrot whose costs for food, toys, and medicine are approximately $60/mo or $720/year. If you would like to contribute to Miranda’s health and well being, please click. Thank you – every amount helps!
